Quick Loop (45–60 min)
Put in at the Lanesboro dam, take out just after the Hwy 250 bridge on the north end of town. A scenic in-town float that’s endlessly repeatable. Take out, walk your tube or kayak back along the trail, and go again!
Lanesboro to Whalan (1.5–2 hrs)
A relaxing stretch with big bluff views and calm water. A great choice for first-timers — plus, there's pie at the end.
Moen’s Bridge (Northwest of Lanesboro) to Whalan (3–4 hrs)
An exciting ride down the winding North Branch. Twisty, lively, and full of character. Best for those looking for more action and a good amount of time on the water.
Preston to Lanesboro (5–6+ hrs)
A full-day journey with classic Driftless scenery, spring-fed waters, and a wild feel. Ends just above the dam in Lanesboro — no portaging required.
