Description
Celebrated Minneapolis musician Jillian Rae will lead a free Creative Songwriting Workshop at High Court Loft in Lanesboro on Thursday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m. Following the workshop, the regular Open Mic will take place at High Court Pub at 7:30 p.m and Rae will share music and stories there as well.
Rae co-founded and teaches at Music Lab, a music school offering workshops and private lessons to students of all ages. Over the years, she has also taught several master classes, led workshops about the business of being an artist, and is an advocate for the power of creativity to bring people together and overcome barriers. Rae’s flexible and accessible approach to songwriting serves as a catalyst for individuals of any ability in the Lanesboro community to create and learn with confidence.
The Creative Songwriting Workshop is open to writers and musicians of all abilities, and workshop participants are encouraged to bring instruments, songs and/or writing samples. This workshop is free, and advanced registration is not required. Contact Program Director Adam Wiltgen with questions at adam@lanesboroarts.org.
This workshop is part of Rae’s mini-residency with Lanesboro Arts’ Performing Artist Engagement Program, culminating in a concert at the St. Mane Theatre on Saturday July 13 with a full backing band. Learn more about Rae’s complete schedule of events in Lanesboro.
