Winter Angling
Wade Into Winter
Lanesboro, is an epicenter for some of the nation’s (yes, the nation’s!) best trout fishing streams, which make for great winter trout fishing. The South Branch of the Root River flows through downtown Lanesboro, and it is a tributary to the Mississippi River. Many spring-fed streams flow into the Root River, providing amazing habitat for trout and other species. Make the most of Minnesota's trout fishing season with a winter angling trip to Lanesboro.
